Other
Brian Reddy was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland. He is a cum laude graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law. While at law school he was chosen for the Desmond moot court board and received the Best Oralist award. Since law school Brian has concentrated his practice in the area of serious personal injury law. Some of his recent verdicts include a jury award of $4,700,000 ($5,053,000 paid including interest) for a railroad worker who suffered a torn rotator cuff while removing a defective end of train device from a railroad car; a verdict of $895,000 for a railroad worker who was injured after a fall while dismounting a rail car and a verdict of $413,300 for a railroader who broke his nose and lost 4 teeth after a traffic accident while being transported in a railroad vehicle.
Brian has litigated and negotiated many other cases that have resulted in large settlements. The defendants in many of the cases have required confidentiality as a condition of these settlements. Brian feels his work is most satisfying when he can help injury victims avoid devastating financial hardships such as losing their home. He also gets tremendous satisfaction knowing that his work has an impact on worker safety. Recently he represented an individual whose hand was amputated in an unguarded machine. After the lawsuit was started the design was changed to include a guard. Although Brian's client has to live with the consequences of the injury for the rest of his life, it is some comfort to him that his decision to pursue his case has made this machine safer for future users. Brian has extensive experience working as a trial attorney in FELA law for firms that are designated legal counsel by either the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen or the United Transportation Union. In fact immediately before co-founding Reddy Baran & Kral, based on his successful track record, Brian was offered a partnership in such a firm based in Toledo, Ohio. Brian declined the offer, deciding he could best serve his railroad worker and other clients by forming his own firm.
Brian has successfully argued cases for his clients in the New York State Appellate Division Third and Fourth Departments. He has also presented oral argument at the United States Court of Appeals for the Second and Sixth Circuits.
When not working to protect his clients' interests Brian enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. While their children are at school his wife, Lisa, is an active volunteer at Beach House family shelter in Toledo, Ohio.
